Exile is a Jealous State

                  FILM INSTALLATION
                  2022

The 6-screen film-installation Exile is a Jealous State questions the relationship between viewer and subject, in a narrative exploring the complex character Alexander, a vengeful young man forced to live in isolation. The film explores themes like exclusion and alterity and shows Alexander’s search for a freedom in which the animalistic and supernational are sovereign.

The viewer directs their individual rendition of the story through the spatial distribution of the screens.

Part of the group exhibition STROOM on June 2nd 2022.
