                This lukewarm world
                (work in progress)

                MIXED-MEDIA
                ongoing

This lukewarm world dives into the history and contemporary manifestation of scapegoat politics and conspiracy theories in digital space, and how these affects global politics, oppression and advancing fascism and the alt-right. The focus of this research lay with the trans and queer community, who is a recurring victim of scapegoat tactics, originating from deeply hateful, religious and white nationalist ideologies.

Using the metaphor of Mary Shelley’s Creature from her acclaimed novel Frankenstein, written in 1818, the work looks at ‘othering’ and using language to create systematic structures of oppression, cheered on by the rapid spread of conservative conspiracy theories in an increasingly uncensored digital space.

Studio experiments with glow-in-the-dark PLA filament, used to print custom infills and corner decorations.

The project will be further developed during a 2,5-month residency at Bucharest Artist in Residence, from March 16th until May 31st.
